The Forkball Foundation has its roots in vacation trips to the Dominican Republic by Larry and Suzanne Bairstow in the late 90s. While traveling through the countryside, Larry and Suzanne noticed how much Dominican children loved the game...and how
poor their equipment was.
As they took repeated vacations to the Dominican, Larry and Suzanne started to take their children’s leftover baseball equipment, hats, and new baseballs down to the local schools that they encountered. With the generous donations from Little League organizations in Eastern Massachusetts, the quantity and quality of equipment began
to grow.
Now, the Forkball Foundation delivers equipment to Dominican teams 3-4 times per
year, and we're looking forward to delivering equipment even more frequently in the future.
Larry has been involved with Little League baseball as a coach, parent, umpire, and league official for nearly 40 years. His teams have won numerous town championships and All-Star tournaments.
Larry arranges equipment donations, equipment pick-up, packing, and the distribution of equipment in the Dominican Republic.
Also a proud Little League parent, Suzanne was actively involved in youth sports for more than 15 years, and was a League Official for youth baseball and youth football in the town of Tewksbury, MA.
Suzanne runs the Foundation's finances and makes sure that the Foundation gets the absolute most out of every penny that we raise.
Son of Larry and Suzanne, Todd played in the Little League system for 10 years, and was formerly the Director of Recreation for the town of Tewksbury, MA.
Todd is in charge of raising money for new equipment, as well as the shipping and handling of that equipment to the Dominican Republic.
